SafeHouse Denver relies on the generosity of individual and corporate donors to support our mission. All donations are tax deductible, and donations of $100 or more are eligible for greater Colorado state tax relief through the Enterprise Zone designation (see below).

SafeHouse works hard to provide effective stewardship of our funds, with 76 percent of our revenue directly supporting our programs and services.

Tax Credit Available

All donation to SafeHouse Denver are tax deductible, but you can earn even more tax relief with donations of $100 or more. SafeHouse Denver is approved as a Denver Enterprise Zone qualified organization. This means that a Colorado state income tax credit is available for donations of $100 or more to SafeHouse Denver. As a contributor, you may claim a state income tax credit of 25% of the value of the contribution up to a maximum credit of $100,000. Just indicate on your check that your donation is an enterprise zone gift and we will send you the required form for submission with your taxes. For more information, please call 303.302.6119.

Non-Cash Donations

SafeHouse Denver accepts donations of various items such as clothing, household items, cleaning supplies and toiletries for our clients at shelter and at our Counseling & Advocacy Center. In addition, we accept donations of office supplies to assist us in lowering our administrative expenses. However, because we have limited storage space, we cannot always accept all items. Vehicle Donations

You can donate an old car to benefit SafeHouse Denver through Cars Helping Charities. They accept any car in any condition -- and that includes trucks, vans, RVs, boats, snowmobiles and motorcycles. The net proceeds of the sale will benefit SafeHouse Denver. Your donation is tax deductible, and Cars Helping Charities provides free towing. Cell Phone Donations

SafeHouse welcomes donations of old cell phones. Phone are reprogrammed to dial 911 only and are given to clients in case of an emergency, or recycled to generate funds for our programs and services. Support Us Spotlight!

Thank you to Zoe Traphagan at Zoe Salon & Spa for hosting the ‘Martinis, Mojitos & Moms (oh my!)’ event benefitting SafeHouse Denver, on April 13, 2009.  Together, event attendees raised over $400 in support of our programs and services.  Zoe Salon & Spa also donated hair products for clients at the SafeHouse Denver Emergency Shelter.  Thank you Zoe for your ongoing support!
